Welcome to Saint Ignatius' College Riverview

Choosing a school is an important decision for any family. At Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview, the enrolment process is designed to be clear, respectful and supportive from the moment you make an enquiry. Families are invited to learn about the College, explore its programs and understand how the Jesuit tradition shapes learning and community life.

Our Enrolment Process

If your son is on our waitlist, please advise the College of any change in contact details. This will ensure that you receive notification of the next steps in the enrolment process.

01. Waitlist application

We invite parents to complete a Waitlist Application for their son any time from birth until September 1st (when your son is in Year 1, for a Year 5 entry), and September 1st (when your son is in Year 3, for a Year 7 entry).

02. Enrolment application

Shortly after September, families on the waitlist will be sent an Enrolment Application pack. Once received, each completed application is carefully considered by the Enrolment Committee.

03. Advice of progression

In February of the following year, all applicants are notified whether their application has successfully progressed to an enrolment interview.

04. Interview process

Prospective families are invited for an enrolment interview at the College in March with members of the College Executive and staff leaders.

05. Offer of enrolment

Families who are offered a place at the College will receive a Letter of Offer along with an Enrolment Contract.

Pathway to enrolment

You are welcome to apply for a place at the College for your son at any time from birth. For entry into Year 5, applications are accepted up until September 1st of your son’s Year 1, and for entry into Year 7, up until September 1st of Year 3. All applications received by the closing date for the requested year of entry are given equal consideration, with no preference based on when they were submitted.

Your application journey

In considering applications for enrolment, the College gives thoughtful regard to a range of factors. While no placement can be guaranteed, priority is generally given to the following (in no particular order of merit):

  • Boys who have been baptised into the Catholic faith (exemptions may apply in boarding)
  • Families who are actively involved in a parish community
  • Families whose values are closely aligned with those of the College
  • Siblings of current or former students
  • Sons of past students of the College

In each case, applications are considered holistically, with attention to the student’s spiritual, academic, social, and physical development. No single factor is considered in isolation. Rather, the College seeks to understand each young person as a whole, and to welcome those who are likely to thrive within and contribute to the life of a supportive, well-rounded educational community.
