Service lies at the heart of the Jesuit tradition, and volunteering offers families a practical way to live this out. Whether assisting at community gatherings, supporting sport or performing arts, or helping with hospitality at College events, volunteers strengthen the sense of companionship and shared purpose that defines our community.
There are many ways to be involved. Parents may contribute to year group activities, liturgical events, pastoral programs, or whole-school celebrations. Roles are designed to be approachable and well supported, allowing families to participate in ways that suit their availability. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference to the life of the College.
Volunteering also provides families with an opportunity to engage more fully with the College community, meet other parents, and gain insight into the daily life and values that guide Riverview. Many find that participating in school events deepens their connection to the College and enhances their understanding of the formation of their sons.
At its heart, volunteering reflects the Ignatian call to serve generously. By giving their time and sharing their skills, volunteers help cultivate a community where service is celebrated, modelled, and lived. Their involvement supports the formation of young men who understand the importance of contributing to others and the wider world.
