The Parents & Friends Association (P&F)
All parents and carers of current students at the College are eligible to be part of the P&F. Together, the P&F fosters a remarkable sense of community across the school by bringing families together through thoughtfully organised year-level events that ensure everyone feels welcomed, connected, and included. They also run enjoyable and engaging fundraising initiatives that not only build school spirit but contribute meaningfully to important causes. In doing so, the P&F plays a vital role in strengthening relationships among parents and carers, creating opportunities for connection, and helping to build a warm, supportive, and vibrant school community.
THE P&F EXECUTIVE
The P&F Executive meets at least four times a year, plus the Annual General Meeting, which every member is encouraged to attend either in person or online. The P&F Executive, elected at the Annual General Meeting in Term 4, collaborates closely with the College to achieve its objectives. These are to:
- Bring parents and friends together socially to develop the Riverview family
- Promote cooperation between parents, friends and College activities
- Promote and participate in projects or activities for the welfare of the College
- Provide a forum through which parents’ views can be presented to the College
- Support the College’s Bursary Program, which provides the opportunity of a Jesuit education to students whose family would not otherwise be able to afford it, and other school initiatives through engaging fundraising
Volunteering with the P&F
Volunteering not only helps make these events special—it’s also a great way to connect with others, build friendships, and be an active part of the College community.
Throughout the year, there are many opportunities to be involved, such as the Saturday Winter Sport Canteen, Merchandise Stand, the annual Jesuit Mission Bazaar, Riverview Art Show, Gold Cup Rowing Regatta, and parent/carer–son gatherings including the Year 7 Mass and Dinner.
You can also get involved more regularly by taking on a P&F role, such as a Year Group Co-ordinator or joining the P&F Committee.
