Debating and public speaking are established co-curricular programs at the College.

Students may take part in several competition formats, including inter-school debating through associations such as the GPS and other regional competitions.

Debating teams are selected each year, and training is conducted under the supervision of staff and external coaches. Weekly debates follow the competition schedule, generally held in the evenings during the debating season.

Public speaking opportunities include internal events, external competitions and selected representative pathways. Students receive coaching that covers speech structure, delivery skills and topic preparation.

The program accommodates students from a range of year levels. Team composition, commitment requirements and competition rules are communicated at the beginning of each season.

Debating and public speaking activities operate alongside academic commitments and are optional co-curricular offerings.
