    Foundation

“Affection for the school—enthusiasm for its well-being”

The Riverview College Foundation was established in 1985 and is a public company limited by guarantee. It manages several funds including the tax-deductible Riverview College Foundation Building Fund and Riverview College Foundation Welfare Fund.

The year 2020 marked the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Foundation. Its motto, ‘Affection for the school and enthusiasm for its wellbeing’ still captures that first vision. The mandate of the Foundation remains the same: to raise funds to provide needs-based bursaries to students and families that could not otherwise afford a Riverview education and to provide capital to the College to assist it to maintain and develop the College’s magnificent campus and extensive buildings and facilities.

    Therry Bequest Society

Saint Ignatius’ College, Riverview deeply appreciates the commitment of our alumni, parents and friends, who have named the Riverview College Foundation as a beneficiary in their will.

The Therry Bequest Society recognises the important place our benefactors have within the Riverview family.

Named in honour of Fr John Joseph Therry, whose bequest to the Society of Jesus provided much of the finance required to establish Saint Ignatius’ College, Riverview, the Therry Bequest Society welcomes our supporters who have chosen to leave a bequest to the Riverview College Foundation.

In acknowledgment of their commitment to the College, members of the Therry Bequest Society receive a special membership package. They are also granted access to a range of additional benefits – from exclusive member events and behind-the-scenes tours to regular updates on our latest milestones and discoveries.

We hope you will join us and other benefactors who share a passion for supporting education and care at Saint Ignatius’ College, Riverview.

    Parents & Friends

The Parents & Friends Association of Saint Ignatius’ College (P&F) is a voluntary organisation that supports the College in the promotion of Ignatian generosity, community and hospitality. We also raise funds for donation to the school and the Riverview College Foundation Bursary Fund. Any parent or friend of a current student of the College is eligible for membership of the Association.

The Parents & Friends Association meets three times a year— in Term 1, Term 2 and Term 4. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings. The P&F Executive is elected at the AGM in Term 4.

    The P&F’s objectives are:

    • To bring the parents and friends of Saint Ignatius’ College, Riverview, together socially to develop the Riverview family
    • To promote co-operation between parents and friends and the College in its external activities
    • To promote or participate in projects or activities for the welfare of the College
    • To act informally as a forum through which parents’ views can be presented and passed on to the College administration.

    The Old Ignatians’ Union

The OIU was officially established in 1897 with the aim of sustaining and strengthening the connection Old Boys have with each other, and with Saint Ignatius’ College, Riverview.

The OIU Mission is “To engage, connect and support OIU members; to assist the College in the promotion of education and continuing development of a Jesuit way of life; and be true men for others by serving the broader community.”

Members can connect with each other in various ways: through the Old Ignatians’ Sporting Clubs, Class and Country Reunions and the OIU Annual Lunch, providing Old Boys with an opportunity to re-connect with lost classmates, continue long-lasting friendships, and make new ones. There are also opportunities for members to forge business connections and establish mentoring partnerships.

There are many ways for Old Boys to connect with the College, and it is hoped that this site will extend and enrich such connections. We welcome your participation, and thank you for your involvement in our association.

For more information about any of the above activities please contact the OIU directly: oiu@riverview.nsw.edu.au

    Past Parents

The Riverview Past Parents’ Association was formed some 27 years ago arising from a parental initiative. The concept of the Riverview Family is a powerful one and the Past Parents seek to provide a forum which is primarily concerned with fostering continuing friendship and support among those parents whose last or only son has left Riverview. Some past parents view their involvement with the PPA as an opportunity to give something back to the school community, particularly if they were unable to be actively involved with the P & F while their son was at school; others who have been actively involved in various areas find that the Association is a good way to catch up with friends through our three annual functions. It is also a good way to become aware of some of the continuing spiritual education initiatives offered by the College.

The Past Parents’ Association is not a fund raising body per se but we do have some money left over from our social functions and all of this is given to the College at the end of each year. It is used to fund an ongoing annual part bursary.

For more information about the PPA email ppapresident@riverview.nsw.edu.au
