    Therry Bequests Society

Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview deeply appreciates the commitment of alumni, parents, and friends who have named the Riverview College Foundation as a beneficiary in their will.

Bequests have played a critical role in the establishment and evolution of Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview.

Father John Joseph Therry is considered one of the founders of the College, along with Archbishop Vaughan and Father Josep Dalton SJ. It was his bequest in 1864 to the Society of Jesus that enabled the establishment of Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview. This spirit of generosity and commitment to our students continues today at the College.

A bequest to Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview, no matter how large or small, signifies a significant and permanent commitment to Ignis, the College’s spirit of giving, and to excellence in teaching and pastoral care for our students.

Should you wish to discuss a gift in your will, or a planned gift, please contact the Riverview College Foundation on +61 2 9882 8232, or foundation@riverview.nsw.edu.au.

    Parents & Friends

The Parents & Friends Association(P&F) at Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview is a voluntary organisation that supports the College in the promotion of Ignatian values including community, hospitality, and generosity. We also raise funds for the College’s Bursary Program, which provides the opportunity of a Jesuit education to students whose family would not otherwise be able to afford it, and for the College’s capital campaigns.

Any parent or friend of a current student of the College is eligible for membership of the P&F.

The P&F meets twice a year — in Term 1 and Term 4. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings. The P&F Executive, elected at the Annual General Meeting in Term 4, meets monthly and collaborates closely with the College to achieve its objectives. These are to:

    • Bring the parents and friends of Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview together through social events with a view to furthering a sense of community.
    • Provide a means for promoting common interests.
    • Promote co-operation between parents and friends and the College in its external activities.
    • Promote or participate in projects or activities for the welfare of the College.
    • Act informally as a forum through which parents’ views can be presented and passed on to the College administration.

    The Old Ignatians’ Union

The OIU was officially established in 1897 with the aim of sustaining and strengthening the connection Old Boys have with each other, and with Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview.

The OIU Mission is “To engage, connect and support OIU members; to assist the College in the promotion of education and continuing development of a Jesuit way of life; and be true men for others by serving the broader community.”

Members can connect with each other in various ways: through the Old Ignatians’ Sporting Clubs, Class and Country Reunions and the OIU Annual Lunch, providing Old Boys with an opportunity to re-connect with lost classmates, continue long-lasting friendships, and make new ones. There are also opportunities for members to forge business connections and establish mentoring partnerships.

There are many ways for Old Boys to connect with the College, and it is hoped that this site will extend and enrich such connections. We welcome your participation, and thank you for your involvement in our association.

For more information about any of the above activities please contact the OIU directly: oiu@riverview.nsw.edu.au

    Past Parents

The Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview Past Parents Community (PPC) fosters new and continued friendships amongst parents whose last or only son has graduated from the College. We are fortunate that many of our past parents wish to remain involved, building on the strong sense of community and connections formed whilst their son(s) attended the College.

We are grateful for the ongoing support and dedication of our community, including past parents. Some past parents seek to give back to the College and our community, while others enjoy opportunities to catch up on a social basis.

The PPC nurtures connections amongst our past parents – if you wish to be put in touch with past parents from your son’s year group or get involved, or if you have any questions, we are happy to help.

The Past Parents Community can be contacted via email: ppc@riverview.nsw.edu.au or phone: 9882 8595
