Bequests have shaped Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview from its very beginning.
In 1864, Fr John Joseph Therry’s bequest to the Society of Jesus laid the foundation for the College we know today. A visionary priest who believed deeply in education and faith, Fr Therry built not only for his own time, but for generations yet to come.
Described as “a man of large notions and considerable achievement… [who] firmly believed in a distant future for which he built,” his confidence in that future is reflected in the thriving College community of today.
That same spirit endures.
