Energy Conservation
- The College is Environmentally aware and encourages you to conserve energy which in turn results in lower utility bills.
- Please turn off lights when not needed for a period of time.
- Please notify the Maintenance Services immediately when you notice a leaky tap or running toilet.

- Monitor the temperature and remember that every increase/decrease of 1 degree can add 10% to the running cost of your unit.
- Clean the filter regularly.
- Keep the doors and windows shut when running the air conditioner.
- Turn off the unit when leaving the residence.
- Adjust curtains and blinds to increase/decrease insulation. For example, during winter, keep them open and let the sunlight warm the air. In summer, close them on the sunny side to cut incoming heat.
Laundry:
- Please wash with cold/warm water to save energy as the major cost in washing clothes is using hot water.
- Both the washer and dryer operate more economically if used with a full load
- The Australian Government’s ‘Living Greener’ website also provides some great tips for households to reduce their energy consumption: yourenergysavings.gov.au/energy.

- Some residents have their own PO Box at the Lane Cove Post Office. If you are interested in obtaining a PO Box, please follow the instructions via the Australia Mail website: https://auspost.com.au
This is a popular option as when the college is closed the below mentioned locked bag is held at the lane cove post office until college opens, potentially creating a delay in delivery.
-
If you choose to send your mail to the College, please note the following mailing addresses (not Courier items).
The correct address for our mail is:
Saint Ignatius’ College, Riverview
Locked Bag 3005
Lane Cove, NSW 1595
NOTE: We do not have a letterbox on site, so we suggest all mail be directed to the Locked Bag.
- Letters and packages sent through Australia Post are collected by a courier from the Lane Cove post office and delivered to the College. From here the mail will be distributed to the employee’s pigeon hole and/or larger packages to the Print Centre.
We recommend you contact the mail room and advise the print centre of your family’s names to enable them to correctly distribute your mail ([email protected] 9882 8314).
- For courier of bulk deliveries, please use this address:
Saint Ignatius’ College, Riverview
2-60 Riverview Street
Riverview, NSW 2066
NOTE: All packages and deliveries are sent to the Print Centre, where the employee will be notified via email to collect and sign for their items. Again, when the college is closed this may cause a delay in delivery. An option to consider is using your google maps address to circumnavigate. (please note that this will not work with AusPost).
-
To ensure your family’s letters/packages are delivered to you in a timely manner, it may be useful to address the mail in care of (C/o) the employee’s name:
