Privacy Policy

Your privacy is respected by the College. New Privacy laws protect any personal information we collect from you.

1. The Riverview College Foundation and the Development Office of the College collect personal information, including sensitive information about donors or members of the wider Riverview community.

2. We ask for personal information where it is necessary for us to do so in order to be able to provide you with a specific product or service, or in order to allow us to satisfy our obligations under relevant legislation such as the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing Act (AML).--Some of the information we collect is to satisfy the legal obligations of the Foundation or the College including to enable the College to discharge its duty of care.

3. Your personal information will only be accessible to staff of the Development Office and the College and those who perform services for us who need your personal information to do their jobs. Such employees and service providers are bound by requirements of privacy and confidentiality.

4. The Foundation or the College from time to time may disclose personal and sensitive information to others for administrative and educational purposes. This includes to government departments and people providing services to the School.

5. The Foundation and the Development Office of the College from time to time engages in fundraising activities. Information received from you may be used to make an appeal to you. It may also be disclosed to organisations that assist in the School’s fundraising activities solely for that purpose. We will not disclose your personal information to third parties for the own marketing purposes.

6. The Foundation and the Development Office of the College may collect financial, banking or credit card information from you from time to time in relation to fundraising or events. In providing us with this information you acknowledge that it is our policy to not retain this information for other than legal requirements, and only in relation to the specific transaction undertaken, and not to disclose the information to third parties.

7. We may include your contact details in a class list and College Directory or Annual Report. If you do not agree to this you must advise us.

8. If you provide the Foundation or the College with the personal information of others, such as class mates, we encourage you to inform them that you are disclosing that information to the Foundation or the College and why, so that they can access that information if they wish.

9. You can access your personal information and you can also ask for any corrections to be made. You can request access to your personal information by contacting us directly. We may not always be able to give you access to all the personal information we have about you. For instance, we may not be able to give you access to information that:

 

  • would reveal personal information about another person
  • would reveal a commercially sensitive decision-making process
  • we are prevented by law from providing to you
  • relates to existing or anticipated legal proceedings.
