About Middle Schooling Print E-mail

Middle schooling at Riverview attends to the particular needs of theboys in Years Five through to Eight. Specialist staff, facilities andprogrammes are provided to obtain the best educational and pastoraloutcomes for students in the Middle Years (around 10-15 years old).

Curriculum content and delivery methods are designed to best addressthe learning styles and cognitive needs of the young adolescent.

Pastoral Care of the boys during the growing years is a major focusto help promote an environment where the boys feel safe, happy andlistened to by their teachers. Providing the boys with sympatheticadult mentors, both male and female, is an important goal in the MiddleSchool.

Staff

Each student is a member of a homeroom under the direction of aHomeroom Teacher. The work of the HomeroomTeachers is directed by YearCo-ordinators, and, by the Middle School Curriculum Co-ordinator incurriculum matters. Overall responsibility lies in the hands of theDirector of Middle Schooling, who is a member of the Headmaster'sexecutive team.
