Winter Uniform: ‘The Greys’

  1. the grey uniform suit of approved shade and quality with the College crest on the breast pocket or the College blue blazer worn over long grey trousers; senior students (Years 11 and 12) must wear the blue senior blazer;
  2. plain white shirt;
  3. College tie;
  4. black shoes, black belt;
  5. College pullover (grey for Years 5-11), (blue for Year 12);
  6. dark grey or black socks;
  7. garments and badges that are not part of school uniform are not to be worn;
  8. tracksuit – only the official College tracksuit may be worn;
  9. Sports cap – The College sports cap is the only style permitted to be worn with a sports uniform. Caps must never be worn with College greys.
    • Short pants are preferred for Years 5 and 6. • The coat must be worn to and from school when greys are worn (except for those who ride bicycles to school).

Summer Uniform

Khaki shorts, khaki shirt and College tie, long grey College socks, black shoes, black belt. The College pullover is only acceptable as the outer garment with khaki uniform.

Notes

Both Day Students and Boarders should have their clothes marked with their name. Boarders’ clothes should also be marked with their laundry number.

PE Uniform

All students in Years 5-10 and Senior PD/H/PE are required to wear the College PE uniform for all practical lessons. The PE uniform consists of White Polo neck shirt with SIC badge, blue rugby shorts, short white socks and running shoes. House T shirts may be worn instead of the white shirt, but all students must possess a white PE top.

Uniform Requirements for Student Spectators at Sport

All students spectating at home or away during the winter season must be dressed in Greys with Blazer. Only boys who play after 2pm may wear tracksuits. The tracksuit top and bottom are the only acceptable outer garments, for those playing after 2 pm or reserves for First or Seconds. The College cap only may be worn. Spectators during the summer season are to wear the College PE uniform – white PE top, blue rugby shorts, white short socks and running shoes or full school uniform of the day (Khakis). All visitors to the Gartlan on Saturdays until 1.30 pm must be dressed in this uniform, or their own sports uniform.

In wet weather the College weather jacket is to be worn.

The College uniform of the day is worn to all official functions, such as GPS Athletics, Head of the River, Masses, Debates and Examinations. The College Greys are worn to formal occasions such a Year 12 Valete Assembly and Speech Day
