The peninsular at Riverview is home to around 330 boarders in Years 6-12, 50 families of staff at the College and a Jesuit community of seven. Saint Ignatius' College was established as a boarding school and the Boarding community has been an integral part of the College for all of its 128 years.

Riverview currently offers only a full boarding experience as 70% of our boarders come from country NSW. The boys are allowed one Saturday night leave per fortnight. Many of our country families appreciate the common leave system for all boarders as well as the relaxed and caring environment that is provided.

While the Boarders’ HSC results over the last few years have been outstanding, it is the quality of soul and the camaraderie that develops with communal living that are special features of our Boarding House. Lifelong friendships develop and the boys are active participants in all College activities.

At Saint Ignatius’ College the students are well supervised but in a relaxed and friendly family atmosphere that allows for the individual care of each student. The boys live in the modern boarding houses with peers of their own year group (a Division) and are cared for by experienced teaching staff from the College. The people primarily responsible for the boys (the Division Masters) live with their families attached to the boarding houses.
