Second Hand Book Sale Print E-mail

Please note that the second hand book sale this year will not be occurring on December 6th, 2010 as scheduled in the calendar. This year the College has decided to trial the use of an online second hand book sale which provides what we hope will be some added advantages for parents which include:

• Trading of your textbooks can occur at any stage through the year and you are not just limited to the one day of trading.

• You can still buy/sell textbooks to parents within the College, but you also have the option to deal with parents from other schools across NSW and Australia.

• You can post ads to show which books from the College booklist you would like to buy as well as posting ads for books that you have for sale.

The Sustainable School Shop is an innovative new online service that has especially developed a Second-Hand Textbook Trading System to assist parents and students with buying and selling all their second-hand textbooks.

The Sustainable School Shop will assist parents to advertise online all their second-hand textbook requirements to other parents within the school, and to other parents from other nearby schools for those items no longer in use at our school.

If you would like to trade your second-hand textbooks the web address is: www.sustainableschoolshop.com.au

You can download a user guide on the website or by clicking here.

To access this service:
• Parents need to register online with the Sustainable School Shop;
• Manually search online advertisements for free and buy textbooks without a fee;
• If you wish to sell, a single advertisement containing two books may be placed for $1.95; OR
• Annual Family Memberships for $19.95 provide full access to the Second-Hand Textbook Trading System and allows parents to place an unlimited number of advertisements for a year covering all your children (including if you have children at other schools). The system will list wanted ads for the books you need and for sale ads for the books you wish to sell, then it will automatically match buyer with seller.
• Parents are well supported with excellent telephone (1300 683 337) and email help lines.

Further information regarding the Second-Hand Textbook Trading System will be forwarded shortly by email and the Booklists for 2011 will be loaded on the website in the last week of November.

If you don’t have a computer, or internet access or an email address please call the Sustainable School Shop and they can assist to get you started.

All technical enquiries regarding the website should be directed to the Sustainable School Shop Pty Ltd. Their contact number is: 1300 683 337 or help is also available through their website by clicking on “Contact us” on the website.

As mentioned we are trialling this system and hope that it will make the task of buying and selling your textbooks more flexible and easier in the future. Should you have any feedback on the process please do not hesitate to contact me. The College booklists will be added to the website in the next few weeks for your convenience.
