The following subjects are studied throughout the Middle Years at Riverview:

• History is studied each year except in Year 8 when a second language is selected
• Languages

Language study normally commences in Year 7 with French and Chinese studied for one semester and Latin studied for two semesters. A Classical Studies programme will be provided for Year 5 and 6 students who display advanced academic ability. In Year 8, the following are offered: Chinese, French, Latin and Italian.

Design and Technology is studied in Years 7 and 8 and includes a component of computing. Computing activities in Year 5 and 6 are integrated within a range of subjects
